Another fine work of Poggialian scholarship. Thanks for the fascinating glimpse into the exploitation/distribution past.

Wow, great research! It's hard to believe that the same company released that released STAVISKY and THE RED DESERT also released I DRINK YOUR BLOOD and THE MAD BOMBER. I guess New World wasn't the only company to have a finger in both the arthouse and the grindhouse.

Did Cinemation give ALL THE KIND STRANGERS a release after it premiered as TV movie, or did they acquire it and then sell it to ABC?

Was BLOOD OF THE VAMPIRES the film that Hemisphere released as CURSE OF THE VAMPIRES or something else?

Thanks!

ALL THE KIND STRANGERS was produced by Cinemation as a TV movie from the start. Christopher Lewis, the son of Loretta Young, was originally announced as the director but was replaced by Burt Kennedy. As for BLOOD OF THE VAMPIRES, it's not the one that was released as CURSE OF THE VAMPIRES by Hemisphere. The only information I was able to find was the title, so it could be anything...or nothing at all!

Thanks Mr. Poggiali and Temple of Schlock for all of your hard work on covering Jerry Gross and Cinemation. This is just amazing!! I also read in the book 'The Amazing Herschell Gordon Lewis and His World of Exploitation Films' an interview with Lewis (page 143) in which Lewis explained that Cinemation was very intersted in releasing/buying "She Devil's on Wheels", Lewis talks about two companies interested in the film (the other was AIP) "What happened was we were negotiating with two companies on She-Devils. One was a company called Cinemation which is owned by Jerry Gross, who made a hard offer on the picture." I think She-Devil's whould have fit perfectly into the Cinemation library :)
