Here are some of the great Memorial Day dusk-to-dawn programs that played our Syracuse, N.Y. hometown drive-ins back in the 1970s and '80s, when there actually were drive-ins within an hour's drive of the Temple. Sadly, these ozoners and several others in the Syracuse area (like the Salina Drive-In) are gone now, giving us all something else to look back on this holiday weekend.

I do not think I've ever seen a drive-in "marathon" listing before where the show times for each feature has been included. As to the line-up that starts with IT'S ALIVE...could they not have found something a bit stronger than SHAMPOO to keep people awake during the home stretch?
Please keep digging these up!!!
yeah, I remember those days--you'd be dirty, with greasy hair, after gorging on lousy hot dogs, by the last film--& you could snooze thru the shitty ones. & of course the drive-ins were worse, with the Fla 'skeeters & all!
These old drive-in marathon ads conjure up so many memories from my past. We used to have these all the time in my hometown (Dayton, OH). There would usually be a group of us who vowed to stay all night during the marathon. None of us made it! Someone was always getting bored & wanted to go home.
Amazingly, we still have drive-ins in this area. We have 3 in the immediate area. We have 4 other drive-ins within a 1 hour drive. Unfortunately, all they show is typical Hollywood junk. But I still go for the ambiance. Thanks for posting those ads.
