"Malibu Hot Summer" (also known as "Sizzle Beach, U.S.A.) is actually pretty good. Leslie Brander is a real find. (It's a shame that she's chosen to spend most of her life as an acting TEACHER rather than as an actress.) Kevin Costner is OK. (he's young--this was one of his first pictures) Brander and Costner create a little heat during their sex scene. The story "makes sense." It has a beginning, a middle, and a satisfying conclusion. Some of the songs on the soundtrack are quite effective. Richard Brander (Leslie's husband--lucky guy) had some talent as a director. At times the film is genuinely erotic, and overall Brander imbues it with a wistful, "misty" kind of quality. (The washed-out photography helps to give the film a certain ambience.)
Isn't Kevin Costner also in this turd?
